Nintendo has signed a deal with publisher HarperCollins to bring 100 literary classics to the Nintendo DS

The software will squeeze together work from some of the most celebrated writers in history – from Arthur Conan Doyle to Oscar Wilde to Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, D.H. Lawrence and William Shakespeare – onto a single DS cartridge.

A total of 22 of William Shakespeare’s 38 plays will be included in the package - entitled 100 Classic Book Collection - featuring giants such as Macbeth, Hamlet and Othello (pictured).

As expected, users can turn through pages via the DS’s touchscreen. The software also allows users to adjust text size as well as place virtual bookmarks, eliminating the micro-panic of seeing one fall out from a physical book.
